Heavy showers continue to fall in several parts of the south-eastern part of the island. Several roads are under water at the moment. A rescue operation is currently underway in Bambous Virieux to help 9 people. A bus carrying students for the exams is also blocked in Anse Jonchaie.

This amount corresponds to twice the average monthly rainfall for April at this location. Around 200mm of the total fell in just a few hours (around 04:00 to 10:00) early on 16 April.
